Beppu City

Beppu is a hot spring town that boasts one of the largest numbers of hot springs and the largest volume of hot spring water in Japan. The quantity and number of hot springs far surpasses that of other hot spring resorts. There are records that sanatoriums were built in Beppu, Kannawa, and Hamawaki, and their efficacy has attracted many people.
